How To Minister The Love Of Christ To Others 1. Know the WORD. First of all, you do need to have a scriptural base upon which to minister to people with deep needs, and you are wise to seek this knowledge. 2. Show LOVE. However, the most important thing you can do to help is show love as you are doing. 3. Remember WHOSE you are. The most important thing any one who tries to minister needs to remember is: You are a SERVANT, not the SAVIOR. We do the best we can and leave the results to God. 4. Wait on the HOLY SPIRIT. If you feel the Holy Spirit prompting you, then move and speak. If not, stay still and be quiet. 5. Be PATIENT. Don't fret yourself because you cannot solve a problem NOW. Some problems like anorexia, addiction or depression are many years in forming and may take time to resolve. 6. Give your burdens to JESUS. I worked many years for social services and burnt out because I tried to carry all the burdens myself. Jesus is our burden bearer. He gives us a heart of compassion, yes. He gives us urges to pray and help, yes. But in the final anaylsis, we must heave that burden upon His great shoulders. 7. REST in Jesus. Be in a state of quiet listening and expectation, but refuse to be bound by anxiety and worry. 8. PRAY. Do spiritual warfare on behalf of the ones you are ministering to. 9. Fix you EYES Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Take time to worship Him and minister to Him. This puts things into perspective and links you to His strength and power 10. TRUST in God to bring about results IN HIS TIMING. -OldTimer All files c1998 Karleen E. Page, All Rights Reserved. ONE copy may be printed or copied to your PC for personal use only.
