Father God we lift your Name on high and sing
your praises tonight. We rejoice in your many blessings and graces to us your grateful
children. Jesus, our Lord and Savior, we give you praise for dying for us, and rising for
us, and ever living to make intercession for us. Holy Spirit, we look to you as our
Helper, Comforter, Teacher and Friend. Abide with us tonight and fill us with love and
knowledge and wisdom. satan we come against you and bind you and rebuke you and cast you out of this room, before, during and after the lesson. You have no place here in Jesus Name! satan we declare null and void all of your plans against the Word and bind you from interfering with any and all of our equipment in Jesus Name! OlePappy - satan, I bind you and cast you out of the internet tonight in the name of Jesus, the Son of the living God OlePappy - Father, I ask You to give us the knowledge that You intend for us tonight and the wisdom to use it in out lives. Your will be done in the name of Jesus. AMEN Hallelujah - are ya ready to study more spiritual weapons? Every time I think I'm finished, the Lord reveals something else to me. I have 15 so far!!! Praise the Lord, what an arsenal!! Last time we discussed using Weapon # 1, The Word of God or Sword of the Spirit and Weapon # 2, Prayer in spiritual warfare. Remember that all of the weapons can be used either in defense of ourselves or loved ones, or offensively when claiming new territory for God or wrestling against principalities and powers. Also, many times these weapons are used TOGETHER - as when you pray the word in the Name of Jesus! And they aren't presented in any special order, just as the Lord revealed them to me. Weapon # 3 The Name of Jesus. Jesus has given us the right to use His Name. In the secular world, you can give someone the "power of attorney". This means that they can transact business in your name, sign your checks, and act as if they WERE you in everything. Jesus has left us "power of attorney" to use HIS Name against the enemy and in prayer.John 16:23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. When we use Jesus Name in faith, the devil has to bow the knee, because Jesus Name is higher than any other name, especially satan's! Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God exalted him [Jesus] to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus EVERY knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. If you have a problem, NAME IT, and then tell it to bow to the Name of Jesus! Glory! EVERY Knee shall bow! Psalm 44:4-7 "You are my King and my God,... Through you we push back our enemies; THROUGH YOUR NAME we trample our foes. I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame." Hallelujah! It is Jesus Name that brings us victory over all the powers of the evil one. Jesus sent out seventy disciples to teach about the kingdom. When they returned they said to Him: Luke 10:17: The seventy (-two) returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." Luke 10:18-19 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. In Jesus Name we as believers, no matter how weak and wimpy or imperfect we may feel we are, in JESUS Name we have the power to overcome anything satan or his demons tries to hurl at us! The seventy (or 72) were a group of disciples that Jesus sent out, who were representative of ANY disciple. The power and authority Jesus gave them is available to us today as well.
Mark 9:38-40 "Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us." "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us" The disciples saw a man driving out demons by Jesus Name and wanted him to stop because he wasn't an apostle. But Jesus rebuked them. This showed someone not of the Twelve disciples using the authority of Jesus Name. This power is available to all of us who believe on Jesus. Like James says, it only takes a bit of faith to do wonders when we use the Name of Jesus. Jesus also said in Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs will accompany those who believe: IN MY NAME they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."Now don't get nervous, we ain't gonna bring serpents into the chat room, or anything like that! But serpents and poison are symbols of the devil, demons and sin, and in Jesus Name we not only have power over them, but in Jesus Name, we can bring a healing touch to the sick.
Right James, BUT those that handle snakes or drink poison to "prove" their faith are tempting God and perverting His Word! The promise in this passage (which is also in other passages as we have seen) is for "those who believe" - any born again believer can avail himself of the power and authority in Jesus Name. Now let's look at some examples in the Word of believers exercising this power. Peter exercised the power of healing in Jesus Name in Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Remember the story of the beggar crippled from birth who asked Peter and John for a handout at the temple gate? After Peter said, In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk", Peter took the beggar by the hand to help him up, and INSTANTLY the man was healed! He began leaping around and praising God. Every body was amazed. When the crowds wondered at this healing, Peter replied to them, Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see. Peter gave all the glory to Jesus and the power of His Name. Peter and the apostles had to appear before the religious rulers to explain how this happened. They replied: Acts 4:9-10 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Savior's Servant - OT-Do you think there is more power in saying in the name of Jesus and His blood or just in the name of Jesus, or does it matter? James - OT, do you think that any of us can heal others in the name of Jesus? Sherry - Though Jesus we can heal can't we??? After the apostles were forbidden by the Jewish rulers to speak out in the name of Jesus, which they refused to do, they prayed this prayer: Acts 4:30 "Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." James - I believe that if we have faith we can do anything in the name of Jesus. Savior's Servant - I believe we can heal as long as we use Jesus' name and it's his will and you have faith OlePappy - I know that we can....I have seen it! I HAVE BEEN HEALED OF RHEUMATIOD Arthritis of the spine This is the key, I think. Praying that Jesus will work in us and through us, that the power will flow when we use His Name in faith! Now, Jesus' Name is not a mantra, like the Hindus mumble, or a magic formula or spell like the wiccans use, it's acknowledgement of our faith and trust in Him and the Power he has delegated to us in His Name.
A mantra is a word or phrase than Hindus (and Buddhists, transcendental meditation, Zen, yoga, some martial arts, etc) repeat over and over as they meditate. I have been told that these mantras are really names of demons. God is not a push button God, we need to seek His will. The Word says not to lay hands suddenly on anyone. We need to be walking in the Spirit and subject to God's will at all times. Then our prayers will be powerful and effective. Also, we need to know that all healings are not instantaneous - we are to believe, and trust God when, where and how we receive. Although there are instantaneous healings as Jim as said. If you read my testimony, you'll see God instantaneously healed my mom so she could have me! Glory.
AMEN James. Your testimony is a weapon too, and we'll get to that eventually. Praise the Lord He brought you out! Glory! But the Name of Jesus has been given to us as a weapon against the enemy - spiritual, financial, physical and mental attacks - the Name of Jesus is more powerful than them all.
OK, more examples of the Name of Jesus. Paul was bitten by a snake and suffered no ill effects in Acts 28:3-5. We aren't told that he specifically called on the Name of Jesus, but this is one of the "signs" in Mark 16 that follow them that believe. Paul also cast out evil spirits by the Name of Jesus. Acts 16 :16-18 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her. James - I don't think you need a big ritual to cast out a demon. Simply command it to leave in the name of Jesus and that should be all there is to it. Right James, and every day people are being delivered from demonic oppression and control too! It's the authority and power in the Name of Jesus that casts them out! Well, you'd think that Paul and Silas would be famous, but then Paul and Silas got arrested and severely beaten! The devil didn't appreciate them encroaching on his territory! But this just gave the Lord the opportunity to deliver them from prison and won the jail keeper's family to Christ!
Right James! Previously I talked about preparing ours heart for war, getting rid of the things IN OUR OWN HEARTS that can defeat us. Things such as doubt, fear, unforgiveness, hatred, etc. in our hearts will give the enemy a foothold and weaken our power over him. That's why we should prepare our hearts BEFORE we do spiritual warfare. AND put on the WHOLE armor of God. (See previous lessons)
Right Glory, and we have to take authority over those binding spirits in Jesus Name! In "Woman's Handbook for Spiritual Warfare" by Quinn Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock, we are told this about using the Name of Jesus in spiritual warfare:
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James - OT, the movie "The Exorcist" didn't help the public's prospective either! Forgive my French, but The Exorcist was pure adulterated CRAP, spiritually speaking.
Hallelujah, that was so good I just had to share it! The devil wants to keep us ignorant, weak kneed, fearful and trembling. But in Jesus Name we WILL not be ignorant. God has brought you here tonight to give you wisdom on how to fight the enemy. But you must have faith in God's Word and RECEIVE this authority by faith and then USE IT!
I've received a question - Are panic attacks from the devil? My answer is yes. Now panic attacks come when we are in a weakened condition spiritually, physically or mentally. They are horrible, have had quite a few myself.
Panic attacks are oppressions from satan. The purpose is to shake our faith in God's love and care. And it is a frightening thing when your heart starts to pound, and you feel weak and shaky and all. BUT in Jesus Name, they can be over come.
For God has NOT given us the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.
First, RESIST the devil in the Name of Jesus. Pray something like,
Then WILL yourself to rest in Jesus Name. Come unto me all you who are weary and heavy-laden and I WILL GIVE YOU REST, Jesus says. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye SHALL find rest unto your souls. The hardest thing for me to do when those panic attacks came, was to WILL or DECIDE to REST in Jesus! Resting in Jesus and trusting in Him has the OPPOSITE effect that the attacks do. It causes your heart to slow down, your breathing to become slow and restful, and the heart to stop pounding and the fear to leave! OK, another KEY is to ask Jesus to show you the SOURCE of these attacks, and show you how to resolve whatever problem or lack is causing them. Mine were caused by a physical problem (allergic reactions ) along with a FEAR of DEATH, and a FEAR of REJECTION - so they were the SPIRITUAL cause of my problems. The root cause of yours may be different, but pray and ask for wisdom. So to fight panic attacks, RESIST the spirit of fear, REST in Jesus, and pray for wisdom!
To summarize, RESIST, REST, REJOICE, and pray about the SOURCE of the panic attacks. Now I feel it is my duty to give you a word of warning about using the Name of Jesus as a spiritual weapon. BE SURE YOU KNOW JESUS PERSONALLY AND UNDERSTAND SPIRITUAL WARFARE BEFORE YOU USE HIS NAME TO TRY TO CAST OUT DEMONS! Remember what happened to the seven sons of Sceva! Acts 19:13-17 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. [One day] the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. So what were the 7 sons of Sceva doing wrong?
The 7 sons of Sceva DID NOT know Jesus as savior, they were just trying to use His Name because Paul did. The demon knew Jesus and knew of Paul, but these guys were NOT Christians and had no authority.
As the Lord leads you SS, but the Bible says the Name of Jesus is powerful all by itself. We are going to study the blood of Jesus as a spiritual weapon a little later. Why does Mike Warnke recommend this?
As I said before, we are studying our arsenal of weapons individually, but there are times that we use them together with another one. Perhaps in a direct confrontation with the enemy, you might be led of the Spirit to do that, so do it! Weapon #4 Using Faith as a weapon. We have faith as a protecting shield, which is able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. But how do you use your faith as a weapon against the enemy?Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Faith is better than bulldozer; it can move mountains - mountains of fear, mountains of doubt, mountains of deception - the "earthwork forts" and strongholds that the enemy has raised against us. Faith is what appropriates God's promises, including possessing the cities under the control of our enemy - the devil! You could say that FAITH is the "ammunition" that makes all the other weapons work!
Because it's faith that brought us to Jesus and faith in His Name, it's faith that shows us what POWER we have in Jesus, from faith to faith Jesus is leading us onward to victory! In Genesis 22:17 God promised Abraham, "I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies" The descendents of Abraham WILL take possession of the cities of their enemies. Paul said that all believers are children of Abraham and can claim this promise: Galatians 3:6-7 Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. "Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. Every time we step out in faith and claim a promise God has given us, and then STAND on that promise, we have wounded the enemy with the weapon of faith! This is why the devil's #1 job is to create DOUBT in our minds, so that we won't step out in faith and claim the promises God has given us!
NHG, that's a scary ?, because I see dark days ahead if we don't obey: II Chronicles 7:14 - If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Right now our president is being tested to see if he will truly repent and lead our land into repentance, or try to hide his sin and continue in his wicked ways. All of our leaders need our prayers now. Our future hangs in the balance. Father God we first of all lift up our president and ask you to give him a godly sorry that leads to true repentance. Then we pray that he will lead our land in repenting and forsaking evil ways and turning to and seeking you. If he refuses to repent, we pray that you will remove him quickly and put someone in power who will bow the knee to Jesus and lead us out of our sin. OlePappy - Father, I lift our country and our president to You. Lord heal the rift, open eyes, bring about truth. Father I ask this in the name of Jesus. AMEN NHisGrace - I think you are absolutely right and I wonder how much worse we have to get to be worse than Sodom and Gomorrah? Apparently they did not have families like we do today. Homosexuality and all kinds of perversion were so rampant that it tore apart the family bonds. The reason I say this is that archaeologists have discovered burial places in which the bones are NOT laid out in family groups like normal society. They held pagan revels similar to the satanists and wiccans today and desired even to rape angels! Are we this bad yet? Not quite, but there are forces at work to try to make us WORSE. We must watch and pray, use our spiritual weapons as the Lord leads us, and be a witness to a lost and dying world. We need to be faithful to pray for our country and not give up yet! The Church is what hinders evil according to Thessalonians, and we are still here to be salt (a preservative) and light (healing growth, revealing sin). So let us work while it's still day to God's Glory! AMEN
God will NOT abandon America if we will obey II Chronicles 7:14, and other verses.
We were founded on God and the Bible. We need to RECLAIM the ground we've allowed the enemy to take, in our lives, our homes, our families, our communities, our towns, our cities, our states, our nation IN JESUS NAME BY FAITH.
If we humble ourselves, and pray, and repent, and seek God, He WILL hear from heaven and heal us! Hallelujah!
Now is not the time to pull back and be fearful. Now is not the time to abandon our country and be a hermit or something. Now is the time to speak up, to stand, to go forth in Jesus Name! This is what this study is all about - HOW to win the US and the World for Jesus. Put on God's armor, learn to use your weapons, go forth to conquer! Do what the Word says to do! AMEN Revival fires have swept this nation before and they will do it again in Jesus Name by the power of the Spirit! Take your place in the army and stand your ground. Hallelujah!
Lord, give us a burning desire to win souls for You, a holy boldness to walk in faith, an urgency to pray and study, a faith against all odds that will cause us to stand in Jesus Name! AMEN OlePappy - Give us REVIVAL Lord, In the name of Jesus. AMEN satan we declare that you are a liar! We come against your frauds and cons and deceptions that would make you seem to be something when you are DEFEATED! By the blood of Jesus and in Jesus Name we march forth to conquer, and proclaim that YOU devil are UNDER OUR FEET! OlePappy - Yes, you are under our feet, satan! because Jesus won the war! We love and follow Jesus, satan, you are controlled, bound, and defeated because of and in the name of Jesus Father God we offer ourselves anew to You. Cleanse us by the washing of the Word. Fill us with your Mighty Holy Spirit. Train us to do battle. For faith and in faith in You we will stand! AMEN Revive us Oh Lord by the Son of Your Love, Through Jesus who died and has now gone above. Hallelujah, thine the glory! Hallelujah, amen! Hallelujah, thine the glory. Revive us again! Maranatha! Even so come quickly Lord Jesus! AMEN
Good plan SS! In agreement. And repentance starts in our hearts. What a gift, to be able to go DIRECTLY to the throne of God and ask forgiveness and cleansing. What an honor, to partner with God for the salvation of the lost. Thank you Jesus! NHisGrace - Sometimes when I look into the Heavens, I try to imagine what it will look like when our Lord comes in Clouds of Glory and His angels and how it will be when the Dead In Christ are on their way. Oh I can't wait. We join with Peter and the apostles in Acts 4:30 "Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."OlePappy - Thank You Father, as we look to the return of Your Son to take us up as his bride, we fight the battle with satan with the weapons You have given us, In the name of Jesus. AMEN Glory to God. Lift up your heads, your redemption draweth nigh! What a glorious end to this lesson. Praise God! We studied the weapons of the Name of Jesus and of Faith. Next time we'll start with Weapon # 5 The Weapon of Praise. Glory, be thinking about how praise can be a weapon, OK? Lord help us to put our weapons into service this week for your kingdom and glory. AMEN OlePappy - Thank You Lord, for loving us. Thank You Lord for saving us. Thank You lord. Thank You. AMEN Oh, my spirit is stirred up to Praise Him! My heart longs for the coming of my King! Glory to God! One thing we CAN do to speed Jesus coming is to witness for Him and support missions, especially to the unreached groups of the world. I'm not perfect by any means, but I've finally settled it in my heart, I am HIS and want to do HIS will!
What a glorious and precious time we've had in the Word tonight! Praise you Jesus. And we are reminded to pray for our suffering, persecuted brethren all around the world. Lord comfort them by your Holy Spirit, encourage their hearts, let them know that prayers are going up for them NOW. In Jesus Name. Strengthen them with might in the inner man, that they may be able to STAND under grievous circumstances. And let them be bold witnesses for you Lord.
