The Bible says that we are God’s Sons. What about God’s daughters?

The Question:

Galatians 4:4-6 But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman,
born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.
Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who
calls out, "Abba, Father."

When I looked up that one verse-Galatians 4:4-6,it said, “we are his sons". What about
daughters too? I reread it...but it just says sons. Why?

The Answer:

In the time the New Testament was written, daughters didn't have ANY rights, only sons. So to be a "Son" of God had reference to all the rights that sons had in that day, including the right of inheritance.

Galatians 3:26-28 You are ALL sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

This verse clearly shows that female believers were considered "sons" of God with all the rights and privileges that entails.

Also, daughters of God is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 6:18 "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

Acts 2:17-18 also includes women in the outpouring of God's kingdom: "`In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. "

So in one sense we are all Sons of God, but that certainly includes women!
