Whicn is Better, Prayer or Magik?

The Question:

I hear a lot in the news and on TV today about using magik and witchcraft to get what you want. Which is better, prayer or magik?

The Answer:

Magik is the controlling of the elemental spirits of the universe by means of spell- casting, chanting, amulets, ritual, etc. Satanists, witches, wiccans, voodoo doctors, shamans and other occult groups practice it, and they differentiate it into "white" and "black" magik. On the surface, it is fascinating and SEEMS to be a way of obtaining power, goods, money and services.

Prayer in the Christian sense, on the other hand, is communing with God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ as our intermediary, petitioning Him for our wants and needs. It involves submission to God and acknowledgement of our lack of human power to obtain help in the time of need.

1 John 3:21-22 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

At first glance, prayer seems the "wimpier" of the two, the lessor way of getting your needs met. Why bow the knee to God, when you can "do it yourself"? But the "trick" in magik is that getting what you want means that YOU become the measure of morality and life. What YOU want is what matters, regardless of the needs or wants of others.

And also, you are at the mercy of those who have achieved more "power" than you, and so it is always a "turkey shoot". You may get what you want, and then again, you may not. You may get "blown-away" by someone who is in more debt to demons that you are.

Daniel 2:26-28 The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), "Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?"

Daniel replied, "No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these:"

Not only that, but God alone is all knowing and all wise. He knows all the hidden and secret things. Why go to an inferior source for knowledge and wisdom?

Prayer is superior therefore, because what you need and want is laid before the throne of God Almighty, who balances mercy and justice in perfection. He will not grant a request that will destroy someone else or harm them. He will not grant a request that will destroy you, or cause you to become captive to satan. (He may let you go YOUR own way, if you insist, to teach you a lesson, but the trials you will go through will be of YOUR own making).

Revelation 18:23 The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world's great men. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.

There have been many who have gone through the doors of magik, who eventually realized that it was a hall of smoke and mirrors, and some were in so deep, they never came out again. Don’t fall for this deception. God loves you and is more willing to grant your requests than you are to ask for them. And His blessing has no sorrow added to it.
