Is an Unborn Child Alive?

I have a question, if a child (according to the law) who is not yet born, not alive, how then can there be a law against hurting an unborn child? the law is to protect human life, according to the people who passed this law, a child is not alive or a person, then how can you violate an unborn child???? this is a LARGE contradiction. one cannot be dead, and alive.

Genesis 49:24-25 But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, because of your father's God, who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breast and womb.

God calls the fruit of your womb - the unborn child - a blessing! I think you'd agree that a dead child is NOT a blessing.

Judges 13:6-8 So the woman came and told her husband, saying, "A Man of God came to me, and His countenance was like the countenance of the Angel of God, very awesome; but I did not ask Him where He was from, and He did not tell me His name. And He said to me, "Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. Now drink no wine or similar drink, nor eat anything unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death."'

Then Manoah prayed to the LORD, and said, "O my Lord, please let the Man of God whom You sent come to us again and teach us what we shall do for the child who will be born."

This child was Samson, mighty deliverer of the Israelites who was called a child and a Nazirite (a special kind of vow) from the womb ... not yet born, yet he already had a destiny with God. His mother had to take special precautions with what she ate or drank because of the special characteristics of this unborn child.

Job 31:15 Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?

God is the one who has made and fashioned us in the womb. Therefore HE and HE alone has the power to decide if we should die before birth.

"Fashion" in the Hebrew means: to be firm, be stable, be firmly established; to be set up, be fixed; be stable, be secure, be enduring; be securely determined; to be directed aright, be fixed aright, be steadfast; to fix, make ready, prepare, provide, provide for, furnish.

In God's eyes, an unborn child is not something to be discarded, not something without purpose, not something that can be destroyed at whim, but someone with a destiny, a stability, a determined future, someone already provided for and wanted.

Psalm 22:9-10 But You are He who took Me out of the womb;
You made Me trust while on My mother's breasts.
I was cast upon You from birth.
From My mother's womb
You have been My God.

King David claims to have had a relationship with God before birth, in his mother's womb.

Galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles...

The Apostle Paul saw his calling from God as apostle to the Gentiles [us] as originating in the womb.

Isaiah 49:1,5 [The Messiah Is the Light to the Gentiles] "Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name... "

And now the LORD says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, And My God shall be My strength), "

A prophecy of Jesus ... another whose destiny was known before birth ... Need I mention that Mary, a poor, unwed mother, would be a prime candidate for abortion today? What if the destiny of Jesus had been.... aborted????

Jeremiah 1:4-5 [The Prophet Is Called] Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."

The prophet Jeremiah was KNOWN by God before conception!!! This is mind-boggling. And God cleansed him of sin BEFORE birth!

Luke 1:14-16, 41-45 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. ...

And it happened, when Elizabeth [John's mother] heard the greeting of Mary [the mother of Jesus], that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord."

A prophecy of the destiny of John the Baptist, who was filled with the Holy Spirit in the womb BEFORE birth. Also a prophecy from the Holy Spirit IN John before birth THROUGH his mother Elisabeth about Jesus, who she already called MY LORD!!

Psalm 139:13-14 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

The Hebrew word translated "Formed" here literally means to to get, acquire, create, buy, possess. We belong to God in the womb, no one else! "Covered" in the Hebrew means both to protect, to defend and to weave together.

Isaiah 44:2, 24 Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: "Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. .. Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: "I am the LORD, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;

Here in the Hebrew, "formed" means to form, fashion, frame and to be predetermined, be pre-ordained. I think it's pretty clear by now that according to the Bible an unborn child is NOT part of his/her mother's body to be discarded at will, but a creation of and by and FOR God.

Hosea 12:3 He [Jacob] took his brother [Esau] by the heel in the womb, And in his strength he struggled with God.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

Most people who allow their unborn children to be aborted are ignorant of the processes of fetal development, the work of God. The unborn child is NEVER just a "blob of tissue". Even the fertilized egg, which quickly begins to divide and grow, is not just a "blob of tissue", but an unfolding blueprint of everything the child is to be according to God's plan for him or her!

Isaiah 13:18 Also their bows will dash the young men to pieces, And they will have no pity on the fruit of the womb; Their eye will not spare children.

Jeremiah 20:17 Because he did not kill me from the womb, That my mother might have been my grave, And her womb always enlarged with me.

Luke 23:28-30 But Jesus, turning to them, said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, "Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!' Then they will begin "to say to the mountains, "Fall on us!" and to the hills, "Cover us!"'

Ok then, it's up to you! Jesus is your savior. To God, unborn children ARE alive, have a destiny, are PERSONS. Do you believe the pro-abortion propaganda? Or the Word of God?
