Hindrances to YOUR Healing

Why are some not healed?

Here are some insights that the Holy Spirit has given me about the answer. There may be more reasons than listed here. None of these are meant to be a criticism or condemnation of YOU, but if any of these "rings a bell", maybe it's something you need to prayerfully consider before the Lord.

Father God we thank you for your blessed Word and we just release our faith to you tonight for healing in Jesus Name! Teach us how to trust you more and more.

satan we come against your schemes and anxieties and fears in Jesus Name. We bind you and rebuke you and cast you out of this study before during and after the lesson.

Jesus we look to you high and lifted up, who bore our sins and diseases on the cross, we look to you as our Healer and give you praise! Holy Spirit, you are the teacher of our new nature, we look to you to testify of Jesus and lead us into all truth. Help us focus on the study in Jesus Name AMEN

The Holy Spirit woke me up early three weeks ago Monday with these lessons on healing on my mind. The theme is "The Manifestation of YOUR Healing". How can YOU obtain the healing that you need for your life?

Healing was provided for us all in the atonement, along with salvation, deliverance and eternal life. Together we seek the healing bought by Jesus' stripes to be manifested, revealed, and brought into reality here and now, because we won't need healing in Heaven.

"Healing" is the PROCESS by which we receive relief from pain, deliverance from symptoms, reversal of deterioration, regeneration of bodily functions and restoration to full health, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Sickness came about when Adam made a choice to disobey God and turn his dominion, governance and care of creation over to satan, whose dominion or rule over the earth is harsh and cruel, and as a result we have suffering, sin, temptation, disease and death.

When Jesus was lashed for our healing and shed His blood on the cross, He bought us back from the ownership of the devil, and sin and disease no longer has dominion over us.

When we are resurrected, we will receive glorified bodies not subject to aging, disease, disablement or death. Until then we susceptible to death and disease. It takes constant vigilance, abiding faith, and ever increasing wisdom to receive and maintain our healing and health.

Healing can come about through our natural body processes, through doctors and medicine, and/or through what is usually called "divine" or "faith" healing, although the source for ALL healing is God.

Four ways in the New Testament for a manifestation of healing are: by faith in the Name of Jesus, by the prayer of faith of elders with laying on of hands and anointing with oil, by confession of faults and praying for one another, and through gifts of healing given to a member of the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit.

In addition to this, in the Bible, there are many other "instruments of healing" or "points of contact" that have brought about healing. A "point of contact" is an event that helps you release your faith. Naaman's "point of contact" was dipping in the Jordan 7 times by faith.

The Israelites released their faith by gazing on the bronze serpent on a pole, a symbol of Jesus and what the cross accomplished for us. The prophet Isaiah recommending fasting and sacrificial service as a way to show our faith and obtain healing. The woman with an issue of blood released her faith when she reached out and touched the hem of Jesus' garment.

Another "point of contact" is being in the "shadow" or presence of a man or woman of God, such as Peter, and aprons and handkerchiefs blessed by a man or woman of God, Paul being an example of that.

This brings us up to date to today. Now there are other examples of how people released their faith in the Bible. Let's look at a couple more. Remember if any of these seem to quicken your spirit or catch your attention, take some time and research that event thoroughly and listen to what the Holy Spirit tells you to do about it.

Mark 8: 22-25 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?"

I don't know how many people today would be humble enough or desperate to let a servant of God spit on them for healing! But Jesus did it, and also laid His hands on the blind man. The use of saliva for cures was recognized by the Jewish rabbis, although the custom seems strange to us today.

He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around." Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

This is an interesting event, because it is an example of gradual healing. We'd all like to be instantly healed and have all the symptoms gone, wouldn’t' we? But sometimes healing occurs in stages.

This was a healing in two stages. Jesus put his hands on the man once and he could see, but his vision was blurred. So Jesus put his hands on him again, and he saw everything clearly.

John 9:1, 6 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

Here is another account of Jesus using saliva and mud to bring about a healing. In this case the man was told to go and wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man went where he was "Sent", was obedient and washed, and then he came home seeing! Siloam means "Sent".

Luke 4:40 When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

The most usual way that Jesus healed was through the laying on of hands. Having hands laid on you as a point of contact for healing was also practiced by believers in the New Testament. And it is practiced in some churches today. So if you are having problems believing for healing, a point of contact to release your faith may be to have other believers lay their hands on you and pray for you.

Mark 16:18 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; THEY WILL PLACE THEIR HANDS ON SICK PEOPLE, AND THEY WILL GET WELL."

Now I always remind people when I post this verse that I do not advocate handling snakes!!!! Just if a snake happens to get in your way, in Jesus' Name you have power over it.

One of the signs that is to follow every believer is the ability to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. That includes laying hands on yourself if need be! So if you need healing, find some believers, have them agree with your in prayer and lay hands on you, and claim your healing in Jesus Name!

Acts 9:17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord--Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here--has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit."

Here is another example of a believer laying hands on a person for healing. Now today this is somewhat unusual, but in the New Testament, laying on of hands was considered an elementary truth:

Lloyd - Should we obey James 5:13-16 before asking for prayer from fellow believers?

What do you think Lloyd?

spitzfire - then why don’t people do that instead of going to doctor? if it works?

Spitzfire, well healing comes through our natural processes, doctors and faith ... I would say do all three!

Poc - ok, from what I understand one should be mindful of laying hands on everyone because you can attract spirits
Festuss® - I say do as the Spirit guides you.

Poc, Paul does warn us not to lay hands suddenly on any man ... in other words, you just don't go around laying hands on people without being led of the Holy Spirit and asking their permission.

Lloyd - I think Jesus has offered a formula for healing and it is through the church.

Lloyd, I believe that one way to receive healing is through the Church, but it's just one way...

teach - OT-are you saying that all god's people have the gift of healing?

No teach, not all people have GIFTS of healing, but the Word does say that in Jesus Name we all can minister healing. But we aren't talking about the spiritual gifts tonight, just healing in general.

teach - ok, good... cause 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 says that not everyone has each gift. Each of us is gifted in different ways to serve different purposes

Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, THE LAYING ON OF HANDS, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

spitzfire - healing oletimer could be just healing of mind too, and yet the sickness remains, yes? Because at least you have hope?
Berta - we need to have the faith that goes along with the healing though
Poc - we can receive the gift of healing from God if we ask, yes?
teach - I realize that, but healing, of which laying hands on, is part of that gift. and I just needed clarification.

Spitzfire, I don't really understand the ? But usually when we are ill, it affects us body, mind AND spirit. In a bit we will look at reasons why some are NOT healed, and maybe that will answer some of your questions. Right berta. Poc, the Holy Spirit gives the spiritual gifts as HE wills...

Mark 10:46-47 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Here is an interesting healing that came about because of blind Bartimaeus' crying out and insisting on getting Jesus' attention - persistence in faith. This man wasn't sitting by the road quietly whimpering, "Woe is me, I can't see". He was shouting out for Jesus' attention.

TheTenderWarrior - timaeus means unclean or defiled
Rolling Thunder - Father, send your Holy Spirit to open our ears to hear your word

Mark 10:48-49 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you."

Many tried to shut him up. They "rebuked" him, chastised him for calling out to the Lord, and told him to be quiet. But he would not listen. He SHOUTED all the more. Here was his chance for healing and he was NOT going to let it pass him by. Jesus stopped at the blind man's shout, and called the blind man to get up and come to Jesus.

Mark 10:50-51Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."

The blind man didn't hesitate. He jumped up, threw his outer garment aside and came to Jesus. Jesus asked what he wanted, and Bartimaeus declared, "Teacher I want to SEE!" Sometimes we need to shout our petitions to God, and declare just what we want God to do for us.

Renewed - I admire the blind man. If only we could get past feeling unworthy we would shout for Jesus and he'd look at us with kind eyes and say, "You are healed" ...  I'm scared to tell God what I want. What if it isn't his will?
Festuss® - Amen,,,,Glory to God!!!!
Berta - how would you know if it is or isn’t His will if you don't ask?

Renewed, we learn God's will from the Word. If we ask anything according to His will (revealed in His Word) we know that he hears us and answers us.

Berta - his answer is not always our answer but if we ask in faith He hears us.
Renewed - What if you can't find the answer in his word. I've looked and I've hunted.
Festuss® - His will is written in a book, called the old and new testament
teach - God answers every prayer/request of a believer... sometimes he says yes, sometimes no, and sometimes wait.

Psalms 20:5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.

Does shouting have anything to do with getting your prayers answered? This verse says it does.

Psalms 71:23-24 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you-- I, whom you have redeemed. My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.

Now some churches don't agree with shouting out to God, and they will try to "rebuke" you and tell you that you are "out of order". Of course Psalms says, "SHOUT". Some diseases need to be "shouted out". Praise the Lord. Declare your victory in a loud voice!

Isaiah 49:13 Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

Shout for joy! For the Lord has compassion on His afflicted ones. Shout your need to him and receive His healing by faith! If you need healing, shout it out! Be persistent. Call upon the Lord in faith.

Mark 10:52"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

After the blind man manifested his faith by calling out to the Lord, Jesus simply said, "Go, your faith has healed you". And IMMEDIATELY he received his sight and began to follow Jesus.

Ok, so we've looked at several "points of contact", or events that helped people release our faith. One of these is laying on of hands, and another is shouting the victory. Next we want to look at some reasons that believers are NOT healed.

Why are some not healed? Here are some insights that the Holy Spirit has given me about the answer. There may be more reasons than listed here. None of these are meant to be a criticism or condemnation of YOU, but if any of these "rings a bell", maybe it's something you need to prayerfully consider before the Lord.

1.  FAILURE TO ASK:

The most common reason that some are not healed is because they DON’T ASK in faith believing to be healed. Now this seems to be pretty obvious, that you need to ask God to heal you, doesn’t it? But notice what James says in this passage:

James 4:2 You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. YOU DO NOT HAVE, BECAUSE YOU DO NOT ASK GOD.

Matthew 21:22 If you believe, you WILL receive whatever you ASK FOR IN PRAYER."

Why don’t people ASK for healing? We will discuss some of the reasons below, such as not feeling worthy, etc. But some people just PRESUME that God knows what they need and will do it for them if it’s His will. God DOES know what we need even before we ask. However the Bible instructs us to ASK, so that is the procedure we should follow!

Matthew 6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ASK him. It is true that God knows what we need before we ask, but we still are told to ASK for it!

Festuss® - God created man for fellowship.

2.  GOD DOESN'T ANSWER PRAYER TODAY:

Others don’t bother to pray for healing because that THEY DON’T BELIEVE THAT GOD ANSWERS PRAYER TODAY. Either He’s too busy or quit answering prayer several hundred years ago, or whatever. But the writer of Hebrews says that

Beth - God is great and answers lots of prayers

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

You must believe that God IS or that He exists to event come to Him, and IF you diligently SEEK Him, you will be rewarded with many things – among them answered prayers.

I John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, HE HEARS US. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

Beth - Seek ye first the kingdom of God an all these things shall be added unto you.

God hears and answers prayer TODAY. Of course the answer may be NO if we aren’t praying according to His will, or it may be WAIT if we aren’t ready for it yet, but happily many times the answer is YES and AMEN in Christ Jesus.

3.  DON'T REALLY WANT HEALING:

Some people are not healed because they really DON'T WANT to be healed - they LIKE the pity and attention that they receive because of their illness or disablement. A few even use their condition to manipulate people through pity and guilt. God is not going to force healing on you if you really don't want it.

John 5:6 When Jesus saw him [the paralytic at Bethesda] lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you WANT to get well?"

Berta - yes OT, i've taken care of people like that. - They thrive on the sympathy. Some may enjoy the attention they receive while being sick. We have to desire all that God has for us.

If you don't really WANT to get well, you won't, no matter how much you pray or have others pray for you. God will not heal you against your will. Do you WANT to get well?

Mark 10:50-51Throwing his cloak aside, [blind Bartimeas] he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."

Bartimeas knew what he wanted - SIGHT! And as we've seen, he made quite a racket until he got his healing! What do YOU want Jesus to do for YOU?

Now remember, that these are all reasons that the Holy Spirit has revealed to me that may hinder your healing. If any of them strikes your attention, you may want to look into them further.

Beth - are some of these for spiritual healing as well as physical?

Beth, healing includes body, mind and spirit... Sometimes more than one aspect is involved at a time as well.

4.  FEARFUL OF HEALTH:

Some do not get healed because they are FEARFUL OF HEALTH. If a person has had a disease or disablement for a long term, they have gotten used to their limitations, their medication schedule, etc. Even though they are not walking in good health, they have gotten used to a certain "comfort zone", and are fearful of moving out of it.

Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Even though good health seems like a thing to be desired, you are not yet ready to make that change. You are yielding to the weakness in your body, and failing to heed the call of your spirit to seek healing. The key is to let your spirit rule, and control the body, instead of the other way around.

5.  JESUS IS NOT WILLING TO HEAL:

Some aren't healed because they DON'T BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS WILLING to heal THEM. They either think that healing is not for today, or that for some reason Jesus isn't willing to heal THEM.

Festuss® - Walk by faith and not by sight,,,
Beth - All spiritual gifts are for today, and healing is one of them
Renewed - I think when you feel unworthy, you block his healing.
Celes†ial - I think when you go to him in that humble nature is when he starts the healing

Matthew 8:2-3 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, IF YOU ARE WILLING, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I AM WILLING," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.

This same account was repeated in Mark and Luke. Normal Jews never touched lepers, and certainly weren't involved in healing them. Here we see that Jesus IS willing to heal us, more willing to heal than we are to receive!

When the centurion sent the Jewish leaders to plead for the healing of his servant, was Jesus willing to heal him? Not only was Jesus willing to heal, but to go out of His way to do so. We are told in .Matthew 8:7 that Jesus said to him, "I WILL go and HEAL him."

Beth - We need to be spiritually ready to receive the healing, the close we are to God the better.

Luke 9: 11 but the crowds learned about it and followed him. HE WELCOMED them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and HEALED THOSE WHO NEEDED HEALING.

Not only is Jesus willing to heal you, but He welcomes you and wants to tell you about the kingdom He is preparing for those who trust in Him. Settle it in your heart, Jesus IS willing to heal YOU.

Lena - Has anyone been healed in this room?
Festuss® - A very bad gastrointestinal problem.. could have been cancer, but God did not give the doctors a chance to pronounce a curse on me, praise His Holy Name!!!
FREE - I prayed for a woman in a wheel chair who got healed and walked. I prayed silver and gold have I none in the name of Jesus rise up and walk She got up and walked
TheTenderWarrior - I have been healed too.... Thank you JESUS!!!
Celes†ial - I have been healed from the pain and suffering of drug addiction
Beth - I have had healing of back problems
Celes†ial - My son who was born with a liver disease and has had 9 operation since birth, Including ...including 2 liver transplants and he just celebrated his 7th birthday on Saturday
Beth - Being anointed with oil and the laying on of hands has been a true blessing from God. Praise God, I could use some spiritual healing and have realized tonight what scripture I need to claim.
FREE - There is power in Jesus name.

Not only is Jesus willing to heal you, but He welcomes you and wants to tell you about the kingdom He is preparing for those who trust in Him. Settle it in your heart, Jesus IS willing to heal YOU.

Lena - Though some people are really close to God they are not always healed I’m thankful that I haven’t needed healing yet. Though I could use spiritual healing.

Lena that is one purpose of this study - to receive the manifestation of YOUR healing and reasons why some are not healed. OldTimer - Praise the Lord for His healing power!

6.  NOT WORTHY:

Some aren't healed because they DON'T BELIEVE THEY ARE "WORTHY" to be healed. Either they think that they are not "good enough" or that they "deserve" their suffering. Either way, they believe that the basis of their healing is their good behavior, not faith.

Titus 3: 4-5 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us…

Remember that it is through grace we are saved, through the kindness, love and mercy, through the unmerited favor of God, not because of our good works. It is the same grace that brings us healing through faith, not our own worthiness or lack of it.

Acts 10:37-38 You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached-- how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and HEALING ALL who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Whenever faith was manifested, Jesus healed ALL who needed it, some were believers, some were heathens, some were "good", some were bad, some were high ranking members of society, some were outcasts - the deciding factor was His power and their faith.

7.  DEMONIC INFLUENCE:

Some are not healed because of DEMONIC INFLUENCE. If the root cause of your disease or disablement is demonic activity, the symptoms will not go away until the demons are dealt with.

Matthew 4:24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

Here we see the causes of various diseases that Jesus healed: illnesses, severe pain, demon-possession, seizures and paralysis. Jesus HEALED the root cause of these diseases, including demon-possession.

Matthew 9:33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."

Beth - God has healed me of seizures, I have been seizure free for 9 1/2 years now.
spitzfire - just out of curiosity, what would the demonic influence be?

Spitzfire, a lot of things can open us to demon influence, such as getting involved in the occult (witchcraft, psychics, horoscopes, etc), drug addiction, generational curses, etc.

This is just one example of how a physical condition (being mute) was caused by demonic influence. How do you know when this occurs? Pray and fast and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal if your physical condition is due to demonic influence. If so, ask for deliverance in the Name of Jesus!

spitzfire - Name of Jesus, is strong eh
teach - ot, are you saying that believers can be possessed by demons?
Festuss® - He has given us power to cast out demons in His name,,,
Beth - People could have demons before being saved and still have to deal with them
    Festuss® - teach,,, no way!!

Teach, there is a lot of different opinions on that. I would say that Christians couldn’t be POSSESSED by demons, because that implies control. But Christians can certainly be oppressed or affected physically mentally and/or spiritually by demons.

teach - OT, I would have to say that once you are justified there is no room for demons, you are filled with the holy spirit.
Festuss® - believers are possessed by the Holy Ghost … the lesser can not cast out the GREATER!
spitzfire - ah, teach, disagree, cause this Jesus life is a process, and takes time figure all this out,
Festuss® - Belivers can be oppressed by demons, meaning demons speak to you.
TheTenderWarrior - I believe in the blood of Jesus!!!
teach - spitz-following Christ is a process of sanctification, but at the point of justification, that makes us righteous with God, there is no room for anything else... that does not mean we won't have problems along the way...
spitzfire - uh, but teach, you must be like angel than eh
teach - spitz-i am very far from any angelic being, but Christ's blood covers me, therefore making my countenance righteous in God's view. Jesus has paid my price and has bought me.
spitzfire - yep, but teach, you think that all bad habits go when Jesus come in ,don’t think so
teach - far from it spitz-Paul says in Romans 7:19 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

8.  UNCONFESSED SIN:

UNCONFESSED SIN can block your prayers, and therefore your healing. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

Regard here means to know that sin is there, and to try to justify or hide it from God.

Beth - We all sin, and need continual repentance. We need to seek the face of God continually, as we sometimes sin without realizing it
Rev.Mike - healing is a gift from God ...it is guaranteed at least by resurrection.. Not always as we wish but according to God.

I John 3:21-22 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

Why would your heart condemn you? Because you have unconfessed sin. Now I don’t mean to say that we have to reach a state of sinless perfection to be healed. That is impossible in this life! Just that if you’ve sinned and you KNOW it, because you are being convicted of it by the Holy Spirit – failure to confess it could be blocking your healing.

9.  DISOBEDIENCE:

Which brings up another cause of lack of healing and blessings: DISOBEDIENCE. Of course disobedience is the cause of unconfessed sin! Oftentimes we KNOW that God is telling us to do a certain thing, but we keep arguing with Him about it. We tell God all the reasons why He doesn’t mean what He says! And disobedience could block your healing as well as other blessings.

I John 3:23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Two things we are commanded to do is to believe in the name of Jesus and to love one another. Loving one another is not always easy, and God sometimes puts us into a position to love those that aren’t so loveable. If we are obedient, God will bless us, help us grow, and bring forth our healing.

10. UNFORGIVENESS:

An UNFORGIVING SPIRIT can block your own forgiveness and everything the New Covenant brings, including healing.

Matthew 6:12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. This verse, part of the Lord’s prayer, tells us that the way we forgive those who are in debt to us, or have offended us, is the same way we are forgiven by God.

Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Jesus made it very clear if we do not forgive, we will not be forgiven by God. Unforgiveness will cause us to lose our blessings, including healing. In fact, we are not only to forgive those who hurt us, but if we know that someone has something against US, we are to go the "second mile" and go and be reconciled to the one WE have offended.

spitzfire - ah,Oletimer, doesnt that take time too?

ALL of this takes time, none of us has reached perfection yet! Remember the purpose of this study is NOT to condemn, but to help you grow in Jesus and to give insight to help you get your healing.

Matthew 5:23-24 "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Offering a gift at the altar is worshipping God, right? How can you worship God fully and purely if you have an issue with someone?

Beth - we need to be right with our brother before we ask God for help
TheTenderWarrior - thank you JESUS...you are our healer!!! {:o)x
guitarman524 - But OT, am I right in thinking that none of us will ever reach perfection until Jesus returns?
Beth - We have all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God and need help with our healing
Festuss® - Jesus said to strive for perfection.
Beth - Right we all have to keep on pressing on to the goal
teach - spitz-believers are made righteous in God's eyes according to Paul Romans 5:19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Right gman! But we press closer TOWARD the mark of the high calling in Christ. I'm sure gonna try to get as close as I can!

guitarman524 - I am trying but the closer I think I am the harder it gets!
Beth - We will never be perfect, but we keep getting closer to the goal.

Gman, I think that's true too in some aspects. We need to seek the Healer and not the healing!

Festuss® - Why do some lose their healing, after they have received it?

Festuss, maybe some of the reasons we've talked about here, or will talk about next time. Also, some may get healed due to gifts of healing, or through the atmosphere of faith say in a healing service, and when they get back home the devil attacks, and they lose the faith needed to keep the healing.

teach - I don't think I understand how you can be healed in one location and not be healed in another? OT? Or rather, lose it because you have left the place where you got it?

Teach that's not what I meant. You receive healing by faith, and relief of symptoms may or may not be manifested immediately. In either case, the devil will try to rob you of your healing, whispering doubt in your ear. To maintain or keep the healing, you need to resist the devil, and stand firm in the faith.

Beth - Teach, I think the idea was you lose it because you have sinned after you left where you were healed.

It's not so much that you LOSE it, it's that you can allow the devil to steal it from you. You’ve got to realize how evil the devil is. He is constantly roaming about like a roaring lion trying to steal, kill and destroy us. We must RESIST him standing firm in the faith.

Festuss® - teach, what he is speaking of they received because of the faith or gifts of others and when they left the left the means where by they received.
Lamronby - Why would I want to be healed........ I'm kinda like Paul..... Would rather be there than here.....

Lamronboy, I'd like to be THERE also, BUT while the Lord calls me here to teach, etc,. I want to be in as good a health as I can to serve Him better! Now there are several more things that block healing that we will cover next time.

Father God we thank you for the insights you've given us tonight on healing. Lord, we are open to the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts. Let us receive what has been said, not in condemnation, but in hope as we seek to get closer to our healer, the Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN

Remember, whenever God gives us a revelation, the devil tries to steal it from us. Guard your hearts and meditate on what you've learned! And put it into practice.
